EDF Energy: Pretty Curious

Tasked with helping EDF Energy encourage young people into STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths), Red Consultancy created a campaign to specifically address the under-representation of women in STEM. 

 

The programme would demonstrate the breadth of career opportunities available through pursuing science-based subjects at school and provide teenage girls with inspirational role models currently working in STEM industries.

 

The programme is now in its second year and as well as telling the story editorially, Red has also created a wealth of digital content as a means of talking directly to teenage girls within their natural environments. These include a Virtual Reality film which immerses teenage girls into the worlds of three women working in STEM careers, a ‘future- me’ online avatar generator, a range of snapchat filters and content created with three influential teen YouTubers; Eve Bennett, the Mandeville Sisters and Jazzybumblebee.
