PR Week Awards finalists revealed
Huawei hosted a secret gig this week with two of the UK’s hottest rap stars to celebrate the UK launch of the new Huawei P smart handset.
Rap star Yxng Bane was joined by fellow artist Yungen at the exclusive, intimate gig in London for media and competition winners hosted by former X-Factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos.
As well as securing the artists, Red Consultancy co-ordinated all media activities. We captured photography and video content during the event for posting on social media and issuing to picture desks and entertainment writers as well as organised national print, broadcast and online interviews with the rap duo including Metro, GQ, Daily Star, Awesomeness TV and Music News. We also worked with Tulisa to secure a paparazzi shot of her leaving the venue which ran on MailOnline plus ensured the artists shared posts across their own social channels in the build up to the gig as well as during the night and the following day.
We also added to the excitement with a number of partnerships with tech influencers to produce a series of exclusive unboxings of the new handset across their channels.
With a campaign reach of over 300 million so far plus 330,000 views of tech influencer content, the event was a fitting welcome for the latest edition to Huawei's P series range of smartphone devices.
