Better LGBTQ+ ad representation needed
Ecommerce experts, digital specialists and media gathered at Red Consultancy for a debate on the key changes the retail industry needs to consider as it evolves its ecommerce platforms and online services.
The ‘Rethinking Retail: Building Online Platforms for the Next Gen High Street’ debate was hosted by Rackspace with panellists including Rackspace’s Chief Digital Technologist Mike Bainbridge, digital retail experts from retailers Heal’s and GAME, and executives from Rackspace partners SAP, Hybris and Validify.
It was a really lively debate with the conversation moving from Heal’s use of smart glasses to connect its website and physical stores, to how retailers and technology companies work with online marketplaces like Amazon. The panellists concluded that no amount of technology can offer long-term benefits to retailers if their infrastructure is not fit for purpose or flexible enough to move with the times.
